| CAUUC is now solicitiing
applications for its annual Social

Deadline is May 10, 2006. CAUUC is soliciting applications for its "Cluster Grants" of up to $500. Information is at "Topics." The UUs for Social Justice (UUSJ) are soliciting nominations for their Home and Hope Booster Grant. Information at "Topics." Deadline for the spring grant is April 30, 2006. The Central Midwest District staff are "delighted to announce that the Rev. Dr. Ian Evison has accepted the position of Congregational Services Director in the Central Midwest District [the position vacated by Angela Merkert]. Ian is currently serving as Director of Research for the Alban Institute, a position he has had sonce 1998. From 1995 to 1998 he was Academic Dean and Interim President of Meadville/Lombard Theological School in Chicago. He served as Coordinator of Research for the FAmily, Culture, and Religion Project for the University of Chicago Divinity School from 1990 to 1995." Seems like Chicago is his heart's home. The Unitarian Church of Evanston will host "The Shower of Stoles Project" at 1330 Ridge Ave in Evanston, April 22, 23, and 24, 2006. The Shower of Stoles is a collection of hundreds of liturgical stoles from gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender persons from twenty-three denominations in five countries. Each stole contains the story of a GLBT person who is active in the life and leadership of their faith community in some way: minister, elder, deacon, teacher, missionary, musician, administrator, or active layperson. The exhibit has been mounted as a witness to the Shower of Stoles mission: "To end ecclesiastical discrimination against gay, lesbian, bixexual, and transgender people of faith." The exhibit will be open Friday, April 22 2-4pm and 5-9pm, Saturday April 23 1:30-5pm and Sunday, April 24, 2-4pm. The stoles will be part of the church service on the 23rd. www.showerofstoles.org |
